Amputation Prevention
DTC Amputation Prevention Program™  (APP) specializes in the early identification and treatment of patients at risk for lower-limb amputation due to peripheral neuropathy and vascular disease. This program integrates FDA-cleared diagnostics and evidence-based therapies into a single, reimbursable care pathway—designed to preserve mobility and prevent avoidable complications in diabetic and at-risk populations. Identify. Prevent. Preserve.

Limb Salvage: Amputation Prevention Program
The DTC Amputation Prevention Program™ (APP) is a fully integrated clinical pathway that combines two advanced, complementary care programs—neuropathy and vascular therapy—delivering greater clinical impact together than either could achieve alone.
Neuropathy Program: FDA-cleared diagnostic testing (Diabetic Neuropathy Deviceâ„¢) with up to 24 reimbursable therapy visits
Vascular Program: Objective PAD testing (TruPADâ„¢) with 36 to 72 supervised therapy sessions
The APP is designed to help patients stay on their feet and out of the hospital, supporting early intervention, functional recovery, and long-term limb preservation for those living with diabetes or at risk. Whether delivered independently or together, the neuropathy and vascular therapy programs offer meaningful, reimbursable care that protects mobility, prevents complications, and improves lives.
The DTC Amputation Prevention Program™ (APP) is a clinical breakthrough designed to stop diabetic amputations before they start. By combining neuropathy and vascular testing with their respective therapies, APP delivers a consolidated, cohesive, and fully reimbursable care pathway that fits any payment model—whether your practice operates on cash-pay, fee-for-service, or value-based care. This flexibility enables seamless implementation in primary care, podiatry, multispecialty, remote, or mobile settings—with minimal disruption to your existing workflow.
People with diabetes are living longer and healthier lives with fewer complications because of technological advances that facilitate earlier identification and interventions. These innovations have ben instrumental in improving the management of diabetes and enhancing patient outcomes. It is expected, if not an obligation, for medical providers to utilize the most modern and objective diagnostic tools in medicine.
At the heart of our proprietary APP is the integration of:
Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) Testing – assessing both painful and painless neuropathy using the Diabetic Neuropathy Device™ (DND)
Neuropathy Therapy – up to 24 reimbursable therapy visits
Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) Testing – using the TruPAD™ diagnostics for vascular insufficiency
Vascular Therapy – up to 36–72 supervised therapy visits (focused on improving circulation and mobility)
Together, these services form a comprehensive, evidence-based strategy for limb preservation. While each program (neuropathy or vascular) can operate independently, combining them amplifies clinical and financial outcomes—especially in patients with diabetes, where both nerve damage and vascular disease commonly coexist.
This program is especially valuable for established neuropathy clinics, which already treat one of the two conditions. Adding the vascular component transforms these clinics into full-scale amputation prevention centers, enhancing patient care and extending the value of every visit.
Very few clinics address DPN or PAD in isolation, DTC’s APP model unites diagnostics and therapy into a single, streamlined protocol—allowing providers to:
Improve patient outcomes through early detection and treatment
Prevent complications before they escalate into hospitalizations or amputations
Optimize RAF/HCC coding, chronic condition management, and payer reporting
Qualify for shared savings, ACO incentives, and bundled payment programs
Capture recurring reimbursement while enhancing quality-of-care metrics
Targets a high-risk, high-cost population (diabetics with neuropathy and/or PAD)
Improves measurable outcomes (mobility, quality of life, and amputation reduction)
Reduces hospitalizations and emergency room visits
Fits within CMS quality frameworks (HEDIS, RAF/HCC, chronic care performance)
Supports VBC models (shared savings, ACOs, bundled payments)
Fully reimbursable through Medicare and most commercial insurers
With DTC's Amputation Prevention Program, you don’t need to reinvent your clinic—you just need to enhance it. Whether you're a provider looking to elevate outcomes or a group aiming to scale VBC programs across multiple locations, APP offers a turnkey, results-driven solution.
