DTC PAD Rehab™ is an insurance-based covered therapy for the treatment of abnormal Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) results. Our proprietary therapy protocol entails specific criteria for up to 36-sessions or 12-weeks (whichever comes first) and beneficiaries may be eligible for another 36-sessions (lifetime of 72-sessions) with another referral from a physician, based on outcomes. Some of the specific coverage requirements include, but are not limited to:
The session must last 30–60 minutes and be provided in a physician office or hospital outpatient department
The session must provide a therapeutic exercise-training program for PAD patients with claudication
The therapy must be delivered by qualified auxiliary personnel who are trained in exercise therapy for PAD to ensure the benefits outweigh any harm
The therapy must be under the direct supervision of a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or clinical nurse specialist. The provider responsible for the supervision must be trained in both basic and advanced life support techniques
Contraindications
Beneficiaries with contraindications to exercise as determined by their primary provider
Management and symptomatic relief of chronic (long-term) INTRACTABLE pain
Adjunctive treatment of post-traumatic pain syndromes
Adjunctive treatment in the management of post-surgical pain conditions
Relaxation of muscle spasms
Neuro-muscular reeducation
Prevention or retardation of disuse atrophy
Maintaining or increasing range of motion
Increasing local circulation
Immediate post-surgical stimulation of calf muscles to prevent phlebothrombosis
